County engineer reports roadwork progress; board approves right-of-way purchase and additional plow truck

County Engineer Catherine Terando told the board that mowing on the county's east side is nearly complete, crack sealing is underway (including Tax School Road), and seal coat work is finished on the west side. Terando said the Highway office sustained roof damage in a storm and the roof is currently tarped pending the insurance adjuster. She also reported hiring a college intern to assist with summer construction inspection work.

On motions brought to the board, Meierkord moved and McLaughlin seconded approval to purchase right-of-way along North/South LaRose Road (County Highway 3) contingent on a quitclaim; the motion passed with all members voting aye. Perona moved and Meierkord seconded approval to purchase an additional plow truck through Sourcewell; that motion likewise passed unanimously. No purchase amounts were recorded in the meeting transcript.
