The Board of Lincoln County Commissioners decided Jan. 5, 2026, to discontinue routine remote access (Zoom) for its regular meetings while keeping in-person attendance and written comment options available. The board said remote access, originally implemented as an emergency measure during courthouse closure in the COVID-19 pandemic, was never intended as permanent and imposes ongoing costs and IT support demands.
Commissioner Scott M. Hutsell, Chair, Jo M. Gilchrist, and Rob Coffman approved the policy change during the board reorganization discussion. The board stated that remote access will still be made available upon request for individuals who have specific business before the board, and that the county remains committed to transparency and public engagement.
