A staff member explained the process and said custodians would take about a week "to go through it with a fine tooth comb" and asked the council to post signs so users know the courts are off-limits while the finish cures. The staffer noted that floor bubbles occur if the surface is walked on too soon and recommended a conservative cure period; "They'll tell you you get on it after 10 days, but the longer you can stay off the better," the staffer said.
Council directed staff to post signage at the community fitness center entrances and to coordinate custodial assignments during the closure. The council also discussed alternate scheduling for open-gym events to accommodate users while work proceeds.
Staff will notify leagues and the public of exact start and end dates and prepare a punch list for contractor completion prior to re-opening.
