Board makes three appointments to regional and local boards

Franklin County reappointed Lee Messersmith to the Southern Illinois Economic Development Authority and appointed Amy Purdy Duff to the Hill City Water District and Jackie Taylor to the Rend Lake Area Tourism Council; all were approved unanimously.
On Jan. 20 the Franklin County Board approved three appointments recommended in letters from partner organizations. The board reappointed Lee Messersmith to the Southern Illinois Economic Development Authority (SIDA) for a six-year term ending Jan. 19, 2032, following a request from SIDA Executive Director Warren Ribley.
The board also appointed Amy Purdy Duff to fill the unexpired Hill City Water District term of Terry Moore (term to expire April 30, 2027) and appointed Jackie Taylor to the Rend Lake Area Tourism Council for a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2028. Chairman Neil Hargis described Taylor as a former Core director and a potential asset to the tourism council. Brad Wilson asked whether new appointees could attend a meeting so board members could see them in person; County Office Manager Amanda Kink said she would request that.
All appointment motions were moved, seconded and approved on roll call (unanimous). The letters requesting appointments were entered into the minutes.
