Commission renews five-year operating agreement with Presbyterian Medical Services for three senior centers

The Torrance County Commission voted unanimously Aug. 14 to renew an Operating and Use Agreement with Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS) to operate the county’s senior centers in Estancia, Mountainair and Moriarty for July 2024 through June 30, 2029.
PMS representative Angie Coburn told the Commission PMS carries liability coverage for noncounty passengers and for home-delivery drivers. Grants Administrator Amanda Lujan said she and County Attorney Michael Garcia had contacted New Mexico Counties for guidance and clarified that county vehicles will be covered by county insurance while PMS will insure program passengers who are not county employees.
Commissioner Samuel Schropp moved to approve the agreement; Commissioners Kevin McCall and Chairman Ryan Schwebach seconded and the motion passed on a 3–0 roll call vote.
