Planning director updates Board; Planning Commission and Solar/BESS PAC appointments set at workshop

Planning Director Scott Edelman updated the Board on several planning processes including the Board of Adjustment, Planning Commission business, a Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) ordinance effort, and the Comprehensive Plan. The Board agreed to discuss Project Advisory Committee (PAC) applicants in the afternoon workshop and to appoint volunteers to the PAC.
At the Jan. 9 workshop the Board reappointed Zack Landgren to represent District 1 and Mark Jobe to represent District 3 on the Planning Commission and appointed Dave Wasgatt to represent District 2. The Board also appointed 11 members to the Solar and BESS Ordinance PAC (Rob Abramovitz, Anthony Browning, Matt Chiles, Elaine Harvey, Mark Minor, Jenn Sharp, Mike Villamar, David West, Matt Spalding, Fred Wilkins and one other) and three ex‑officio members (Brandon Johnson, Paris Valdez and Gavin Andrews). The Board identified planning and PAC work as items for upcoming discussions and workshops.
