The Knox County Board on Feb. 25 approved Pay Application #6 for the Nursing Home Performance Project in the amount of $398,977.97. Member Samuel Cohen said that with this payment the total completed and stored to date is $4,664,727.63 against an original contract amount of $7,659,903.59. The motion passed with Thierry voting no and the rest of the board in favor (Ayes 10; Noes 1).
Vice-Chair Brian Friedrich and Member Joshua Kramer said Nursing Home Administrator Mines requested authority to put the facility’s pharmacy contract out to bid; the meeting recorded authorization to 'bid and bring back' the pharmacy contract for later board consideration. Treasurer Robin Davis described line-item changes approved by the board that include funding for in-house therapy services at the nursing home; the proposed changes passed 9–2 with Members Thierry and Davidson opposed. No vendor was selected at the meeting.
