On Jan. 28 the Knox County Board approved Nursing Home Performance Contract Payment Request #5 for $469,210.79. Member Samuel Cohen moved the item and Joshua Kramer seconded; the motion passed 11-2 with Members Kimberly Thierry and Pamela Davidson voting no.
Cohen said total completed and stored to date under the contract is $4,221,418.78 and the original contract amount is $7,659,903.59. Nursing Home Administrator Jodi Mines reported the current census at 107 residents and said the facility usually runs between 105–117 residents, noting one wing is closed for construction. Member Davidson reiterated concerns about the county continually issuing payments without a complete baseline of historical documentation.
The board approved the payment and asked staff to answer follow-up questions where necessary.
