Board approves three small appropriations; VDOT reports FY26 maintenance budget

During the Jan. 13 meeting the Board approved three appropriations: $10,000 to Cumberland County Public Schools for grant-related purposes, $5,193.20 to the Clerk of Circuit Court to reimburse system costs, and $1,870.97 to the Emergency Services Department. Each appropriation was moved and approved unanimously.
VDOT Assistant Residency Administrator Brian Lokker presented the FY26 routine maintenance budget figures of $1,623,052 planned and $715,128 expended to date and summarized construction project segments on routes including Rt. 45, Rt. 600 and multiple local segments. The VDOT report also noted ongoing studies for Rt. 601 (Clinton Rd) and Rt. 675 (Crowder Rd).
