Staff referenced the site plan (Exhibit 4) showing the proposed shed would sit approximately 0 feet from the northeast property line where a 20‑foot side setback is normally required. After discussion about the parcel’s limited size and the applicant’s stated inability to maneuver machinery without the reduced setback, the board moved to approve the findings and then the variance itself. "Variance is granted," Larry Cochran said following the roll call.
The board recorded unanimous support for the motion with no recorded oppositions. The action was made on the record and will be effective per applicable Whitman County procedures; any conditions attached to the approval were read into the record during the hearing.
