Randolph County Clerk outlines absentee and early-voting schedule ahead of May primary

County Clerk Brenda Wiseman told the Randolph County Commission that absentee ballots began mailing March 27, 2026 and that "voters can still request an absentee ballot up until May 6, 2026." She detailed the early-voting schedule: April 29 through May 9 at the Commission Annex and the Russell Memorial Public Library in Mill Creek, Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays May 2 and May 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wiseman also noted administrative deadlines and training: voter registration changes (name, address or party) are allowed through April 21, poll worker training is scheduled for April 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the courthouse courtroom, and candidates for County Commission and Board of Education must file their first financial statement between April 1 and April 7. She reminded voters that "voters are required to show photo ID now to vote," listed that several acceptable ID options exist and said her office maintains a list for concerned residents. Wiseman added that if poll workers personally know a voter they do not have to require photo ID.
Election day is Tuesday, May 12, 2026; Wiseman said polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. and that all 27 precincts will be open that day. She directed voters uncertain about their polling place to contact the County Clerk's Office for assistance.
