Council Adds 'Rules of Municipal Court' Section to City Code

The Lilburn City Council approved Ordinance No. 2026-665 on Jan. 12, 2026, amending Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances to add a new Section 30-4 titled "Rules of Municipal Court."
Mayor Johnny Crist asked for a motion and Councilmember Emil Powella moved to adopt the ordinance; the motion was seconded by Councilmember Scott Batterton and passed 4-0. The change formally adds a rules section to the municipal code to guide courtroom procedures and municipal court administration.
The Council's action places the new rules in the city code; staff will provide implementation guidance for court clerks and municipal court administration.
