Randolph County Clerk outlines May primary schedule and voting rules

County Clerk Brenda Wiseman briefed the Randolph County Commission on preparations for the May primary, including deadlines and voting locations. "Anybody that needs an Absentee Ballot has until May 6th to request one from her Office," Wiseman said, and she added that voters have until April 21 to change registration details such as address, name or party. She also reminded independent voters that they can no longer choose a Republican ballot in the primary.
Wiseman described operational steps the clerk's office is taking: poll worker training is scheduled April 23 in the courtroom, testing of election equipment begins April 17 with a public test slated for April 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the courthouse lobby, and early voting will occur April 29 through May 9 at two sites—the Commission Annex in Elkins and the Russell Memorial Public Library in Mill Creek. Election day is May 12; all 27 precincts will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., and Wiseman said her office will direct voters to the correct precinct on election day if needed.
