The Ross Town Council on April 2 adopted Resolution No. 2617 amending the Town Manager Christa L. Johnson’s employment agreement to increase the vacation leave cap from 300 to 400 hours. Town Attorney Ben Stock presented the change, which was requested because staff workloads had prevented the manager from taking vacation time and accruing beyond the prior cap.
Council Member Teri Dowling said that the 400‑hour cap aligns with practice for many Marin city managers and voiced support. Mayor McMillan also recognized the manager’s workload. The resolution passed 5‑0. The amendment prevents loss of accrued leave under the prior cap and brings the Town Manager’s contract terms closer to regional comparators.
