Board hears WSCPA report: $600,000 in scholarships awarded, reception set for June

Kimberly Scott, President and CEO of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, provided the Board an update on scholarship activities. She said scholarship recipients are currently being notified and that scholarship awards from Board funds included 35 undergraduate $5,000 scholarships (10 of those to individuals from underrepresented groups) and 30 master's degree $10,000 scholarship winners.
In total, WSCPA and related Washington CPA Foundation funds provided $600,000 in scholarships. A scholarship reception is scheduled for June 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Board members and staff are invited. Kimberly indicated a written report will be available at the next Board meeting.
The Board acknowledged the scale of the program and the intent to continue supporting educational access for accounting students across the state.
