Commission adopts hazards-mitigation resolution and two ordinances, then enters executive session
Summary
On April 7 the Commission adopted Resolution R2026-01 adopting the county All-Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan and adopted Ordinances O2026-06 (bids for asphalt/limestone/sand) and O2026-07 (alley vacation). The body then entered an executive session on property and public-official matters and adjourned after returning to open session.
The Gallipolis City Commission adopted three legislative items on second reading at its April 7 meeting. The commission adopted Resolution No. R2026-01 approving the All-Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan prepared for Gallia County; the motion on the second reading passed by roll call with all yes votes.
The commission also adopted Ordinance No. O2026-06 accepting and rejecting bids for asphalt, limestone and bedding sand, and Ordinance No. O2026-07 vacating an alley parallel to and between Eastern Avenue and Chatham Street. Both ordinances passed on second reading by roll-call vote with all votes recorded as yes.
After the legislative business the City Solicitor requested an executive session to discuss the purchase or sale of property and actions of public officials. The commission voted to enter executive session and convened in private; the meeting record shows the commission later returned to open session and adjourned with no further business reported.
