Premier Foods outlines warehouse addition; staff asks for scaled engineered plans

A Premier Foods representative told the commission the company is proposing a 70-by-75-foot addition adjacent to an existing 100-by-70 building to add freezer and dry-storage capacity. The applicant said the new structure would match the existing exterior and include three dock doors and additional man-doors, and noted an existing shared transformer and questions about how to source power for the addition.

Planning staff and the engineer reviewed the sketches and said the concept is fine in principle but the county will reject non-scaled, hand-drawn plans that lack property lines, utilities and door locations. Staff told the applicant the city needs to be able to verify setbacks and utility layout; as one staff member said, "this needs to be drawn to scale and show those things" so the mayor and county can sign for building-permit review. The applicant agreed to obtain professional stamped engineering drawings and return for signatures and county submittal.
