At the April 7 meeting City Manager John Westfall reported the Riverfront project's concrete work is largely finished and crews will focus next on brick pavers, electric-pole installation and tables.
Westfall also said the 'Welcome to Gallipolis' sign at State Route 141 and State Route 7 has been replaced following vehicle damage; landscaping around the replacement sign remains to be completed and insurance reimbursed the cost. He reported Haskins Park's basketball court will be resurfaced in the coming weeks with funds from the same Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) grant that financed the pickleball court.
The manager invited volunteers to Gallipolis in Bloom's annual planting day on May 2. Commissioners recorded the project updates as routine staff reports and did not take separate votes on these items at the meeting.
