David City holds public hearing on proposed 2025–26 budget; no public comments

David City Mayor Jessica Miller opened a public hearing at 6:31 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2025, to receive input on the proposed fiscal year 2025–2026 budget. The meeting took place in the City Office meeting room at 490 “E” Street; the city posted notice at four public locations (City Office, U.S. Post Office, Butler County Courthouse and Hruska Public Library) and kept the agenda available in the City Clerk’s office and online.
City Administrator Intern Raiko Martinez read the presentation required by Legislative Bill 148 to satisfy statutory disclosure requirements for the hearing; the presentation was completed and the record shows that no citizens spoke in support or opposition. Mayor Jessica Miller declared the hearing closed at 6:32 p.m. Immediately afterward, Council member Keith Marvin moved to adjourn, Council member Jim Angell seconded, and the motion carried. Mayor Miller declared the meeting adjourned at 6:33 p.m.; the minutes record Yeas: Jim Angell, Rick Holland, Keith Marvin, Bruce Meysenburg and Kevin Woita (5); Absent: Jeremy Abel (1).
City Clerk Tami Comte subsequently certified that the subjects were included in the agenda at least 24 hours prior to the meeting and that written minutes were prepared and available for public inspection in accordance with statutory requirements. No budget decisions or votes on appropriations were recorded during this public hearing segment.
