Ross Recreation reports program growth, Kids Club revenue gains

Recreation Manager Maureen Borthwick (S5) highlighted staff additions, new offerings and notable participation gains for Ross Recreation. She said the department has produced a broad list of new initiatives and "the department has offered over a 150 programs to the Ross community from September to today," noting the Ross Rec Basketball League grew to 312 players and Kids Club daily attendance ranges from 16 to 31 students.
Borthwick provided revenue context: Kids Club year-to-date income was reported as $124,000 compared with $99,000 the previous year, and the department expects fiscal-year revenue to approach $1,000,000 against a budget of about $907,000. Council members and community speakers praised the program's turnaround and implementation of flexible options such as the 6-week kindergarten session and gap-care offerings.
