Residents raise concerns about road excavation, income tax transparency and a yard spring

Several residents used the Privilege of the Floor portion of the April 21 meeting to raise local issues. Marvin Ours asked about the gas company digging up Chillicothe Road after recent paving; President Michael C. Fulks said the company has an agreement to repave the road to its prior condition once work is complete.
Jim Osborne asked whether the City must show where the extra 1/2% income tax is being spent. City Auditor Shelly Clonch said monthly financial statements are printed each month and are available for inspection at her office or at the library; she added that Osborne may request a copy. Osborne also reported a driveway area in need of repair; City Manager John Westfall said he would notify the Maintenance Department. Resident Lynne Frazier thanked Commissioner Michael D. Carter for inspecting a hole in her yard on Hedgewood Drive; Carter said the water entering her backyard appears to come from a natural spring on the hill.
