City Auditor Shelly Clonch reported April 21 that bids for media filter replacement at the Gallipolis Water Treatment Plant were opened that day and attached to Ordinance O2026-09. Clonch said the project was budgeted at $200,000 and the lowest bid came in at $138,000 with onsite disposal included.
Commissioner Michael W. Brown moved to place Ordinance O2026-09 on its first reading; Commissioner Dennis L. Kirby seconded and the motion passed by voice vote with all votes recorded as yes. The ordinance on first reading will allow the City to accept and reject bids as needed and move forward with procurement at subsequent meetings.
No vendor name for the successful bid was recorded in the meeting minutes beyond the bid tabulation attachment referenced during the reading. The commission did not take a final award vote at this special session; the ordinance was placed on first reading.
