Stewardship Committee ratifies $1.5 million BUILD planning grant application for Sand Flats Road

Andrea Brand told the committee that the BUILD grant (formerly RAISE) application was submitted as a planning and design request for $1.5 million, with the goal of creating a shovel‑ready design that would allow future capital grant applications. "We applied for a 1.5‑million‑dollar grant," Brand said, and added that Jones & DeMille engineering, county planning and the road department collaborated on the application.
Mark Pope moved to ratify the previously submitted letter of support; Mike Kelso seconded and the motion passed unanimously among those voting. Brand said the GC Commission and the City of Moab had already provided supporting letters and that a successful planning grant would position the county for future BUILD or FLAP capital funding opportunities.
