The Northeastern Local Board of Education approved a broad consent agenda on Sept. 18 that included certified and classified personnel actions, contract changes and stipend payments. Jeff Yinger, president, presided over the meeting; the Superintendent recommended the consent items and Mr. Jeff Collins moved the motion, seconded by Mr. Blake Shaffer. The roll call recorded ayes from Collins, Shaffer, Thompson and Yinger with Mrs. Jacqueline Gray abstaining; the motion carried 4-0-1.
Consent items named specific contract and pay changes. Among them: Stephanie Foreman was granted a one-year unpaid leave beginning Sept. 3, 2025; Robyn Callicoat was designated the district Certified CPI trainer for a $2,500 payment upon completion; Rebecca Chapman’s contract increased to Class VI, step 19 for a total contract of $82,353.00; and Andrew Ortman’s contract increased to Class VI, step 7 for a total contract of $61,557.00. Mentor stipends were authorized at $750 for Year 1 mentors (with Jenna Shull to receive $1,000 for mentoring two teachers and Christine Smith $1,500 as a Year 2 mentor). The board also approved moving stipends of $150 for a list of teachers and detention supervisor appointments at $10.70 per hour (maximum 65 hours).
The minutes record additional personnel and classified appointments with effective dates and contract totals where provided (for example, Loren Lawton as van driver with a total contract of $13,304.61 effective Aug. 28, 2025). The consent agenda also approved student worker rates under the CBI program at $10.45 per hour and multiple substitute and volunteer appointments.
