Police chief outlines camera expansion, National Testing Network use and event participation

Police Chief Odis Rogers told council that the department's fifth FLOCK camera will be installed this week and that the department is evaluating a sixth camera location at Sprague and Lindbergh. He said the cameras will help address graffiti, vandalism and late-night park activity and that staff are reviewing alternative funding sources for the program.
Chief Rogers also said the Civil Service Commission approved use of the National Testing Network for recruitment/testing; the NTN posting runs through Nov. 7. He listed several upcoming community events (Falls Day, IX Center, Crusher Stadium, Grand Pacific Fall-O-Ween) in which the department will participate and thanked city administration and the service department for logistical support.
