Hedgewood Drive residents press city for temporary repairs while OPWC grant pending

Residents of Hedgewood Drive urged the Commission for immediate road repairs during the privilege of the floor. Jim Osborne said the road "has been in bad condition since 1977 and continues to deteriorate," and described large potholes that force some drivers onto the sidewalk to avoid vehicle damage.
City Manager John Westfall said the City has applied for an OPWC emergency grant of close to $1 million and is waiting to hear whether it will be awarded; he said he would consult the County Engineer about possible temporary measures until permanent funding is secured. Resident John Thomae added that runoff from Oakwood Drive is damaging properties and will continue unless drainage is addressed.
