Board approves tenure, promotions and multiple bylaw updates across schools

The Committee on Academic Affairs presented a slate of academic governance resolutions that the Board adopted as a block on April 25. Ms. Barbara L. Johnson moved the adoption of Resolutions 7–17, covering academic tenure and promotions, conferment of emeriti status, the removal of an EdD degree designation in Counselor Education, faculty handbook revisions, and bylaw changes for several schools including the School for Computing, Data Sciences & Physics and the Mason School of Business.
The minutes record unanimous voice votes approving the block. Rector Poston commended the schools for the work in updating by-laws, and the Board recorded its support for the academic actions taken to align governance and program structure for the coming year.
