Students, teams and ensembles earn top ratings; district praised for special education compliance

The St Clair County Schools Board opened its April 20 meeting with a series of recognitions highlighting student achievement across academics, athletics and the arts. Administrators named Cyclone Spotlight on Character honorees, reported that 13 students represented St. Clair Elementary at the May 17 Math Masters (speed-round ribbons to Mariah Stenberg and Mack Stover; individual ribbons to Stetson Lynch and Owen Isebrand), and listed five students headed to the State Speech Meet: William Wellman, Zoe Johnson, Paxton Haala, Olivia McGowan and Autumn Barta.
The minutes also list athletic and arts accomplishments: girls basketball co-conference champions, multiple 1,000-point scorers (Brooklyn Meng and Austin Ward), state wrestling placings, and numerous superior ratings and solo awards at MSHSL contests. Administrators noted that the Minnesota Department of Education found the district's special education program to be in full compliance, which the minutes say "reflects the dedication and commitment of our administration and special education staff."
