The St Clair County Schools Board of Education voted unanimously April 20 to nonrenew the teaching contracts of four probationary teachers. Connie Johns, vice chair, introduced the resolution to nonrenew the contracts of Thomas Chalupnik, Hollie Halloran, Kaitlyn Mattson and Jenifer O'Donnell; the motion was seconded by Karen Hauser and carried on a 6-0 vote.
The resolution, adopted under Minnesota Statutes 122A.40, Subdivision 5, states that written notice of the nonrenewal must be provided and that each teacher has the right to request a written statement of reasons. The minutes include the notice language: "You are hereby notified that at a meeting of the School Board of Independent School District No. 75 held on April 20, 2026 a resolution was adopted by majority vote to non-renew your teaching contract effective at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes $122A.40, Subdivision 5."
