Committee approves $19,007 electrical change—including new exterior light pole—for judicial facility

The Ad Hoc Judicial Facility Planning Committee approved Change Order Request COR#5 to add an exterior light pole and make electrical-panel adjustments for the new Pierce County judicial facility. John Nuzum of Market & Johnson told the committee the panels were originally to be filled with 20-amp breakers, but the revised approach adds six extra breakers per panel; the additional cost is $19,007 and will come from owner’s contingency within Market & Johnson’s contract.
Supervisor Jim Ashbach asked that future change orders include clearer information on the purpose or cause of changes. The motion to approve COR#5 (moved by J. Ashbach, seconded by E. Rohl) carried unanimously.
