Commissioners proclaim Minority Enterprise Development Week 2025

At its Oct. 21 meeting the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners recognized Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week 2025. Chairman Kevin Gordon introduced Richard Hooker, Director of the Cleveland County Minority Business Development Center, who thanked the commissioners for ongoing support of minority businesses and summarized recent accomplishments and planned events tied to MED Week.
The Board presented a proclamation supporting MED Week. Staff noted MED Week originated in 1983 and is intended to recognize the achievements of minority-owned businesses nationwide; the county's action was ceremonial support and did not include funding decisions.
