Commissioners set hearing to apply county zoning to parcels relinquished by Kings Mountain
Summary
Two parcels relinquished by the City of Kings Mountain — a 30-acre tract at 130 Tack Ct and a 0.21-acre access strip at 330 Oak Grove Rd — will have county zoning and land-use designations considered at a Sept. 16 public hearing.

Staff told the Board that Parcels 12261 (30 acres at 130 Tack Ct off Putnam Lake Rd, owned by Jack Neal Scism Jr.) and 62806 (0.21-acre access strip at 330 Oak Grove Rd, owned by Dale Eugene Riviere and Meghan Miller Riviere) were relinquished by the City of Kings Mountain and will now be under county planning jurisdiction. Staff prepared proposed zoning and land-use maps and recommended setting a public hearing on Sept. 16 to apply county zoning and the Land Use Plan to the parcels.
Commissioners voted unanimously to set the hearing. If the Board later approves the proposed designations, the county will assume planning services and building-inspection responsibilities for those parcels.
