Commissioners approve multiple budget amendments, allocate $2.25 million to EMS salaries

The Cleveland County Board of Commissioners approved a series of budget amendments during the consent agenda on April 21.
Among the larger actions, the Board approved an EMS budget amendment (BNA #071) allocating $2,250,000 in additional EMS revenues to fund anticipated salary overages for EMS, Emergency Management and the Sheriff’s Office. The Health Department received $325,742 in drug rebate revenue to cover prescription drug costs (BNA #065). The Board also approved school-related transfers: $433,902 for escrow projects (BNA #073) and $1,061,668 moved from school fund balance to school capital reserves (BNA #074).
Other approved items included Solid Waste pay/class adjustments ($92,160.71), a $35,509.19 insurance settlement allocation, multiple smaller department BNAs, and routine tax and minutes approvals. All consent-agenda motions were moved by Commissioner Deb Hardin, seconded by Commissioner Johnny Hutchins, and adopted unanimously unless otherwise noted.
