Park orders barrier work at Dinosaur Track Site; BLM prepares environmental analysis

Andrea Brand reviewed plans for a barrier project to protect a Dinosaur Track Site along the Hell’s Revenge trail and said steel has been ordered and cable purchased with construction starting in January. Brand said she had coordinated with BLM paleontologist Dr. Emily Lessner, who indicated the environmental assessment (EA) would be complete by the end of the year.
Committee members discussed whether to add an additional hiking trail link from Slickrock to the track site; Matt Olding raised the question of the Slickrock-to-track-site route and whether it was part of the master plan. Brand said the group had discussed the route previously and would continue coordination with BLM and planning staff.
