Museum director announces new role; board delays strategic plan work

S1 told the board she recently accepted the travel tourism museum and archive director position and recommended postponing the strategic plan update until staff (including Andy) are settled.
“The strategic plan, we’re going to put it on hold until after Andy can get acclimated to your new position,” S2 said during discussion, while S1 clarified: “I, last month, was offered and accepted the travel tourism museum and archive director job, so you guys are stuck with me now.” Board members agreed to delay strategic-plan work and aim to resume in September with a goal to finalize drafts by October so the plan is ready for implementation in January.
S1 also asked board members to review the existing strategic plan sent home at the prior meeting so they can bring ideas to the September sessions. The board noted the plan will guide work through the winter and that marketing and exhibit work will continue in the meantime.
