Committee requires Barnes Boulevard gated emergency access and new lift station for Reserve at Turtle Creek

Public Safety Director and Police Chief Christopher Crawford led questioning about emergency-access design during the Reserve at Turtle Creek preliminary-plat review, focusing on stabilized emergency access, ingress/egress configurations, right-of-way widths and maintenance responsibility for the emergency access road. Ana Saunders, applicant agent for BSE Consultants, told the committee the applicant would be "open to a Development Agreement" to resolve these issues and that the engineering phase would address the access details and water availability for fire suppression.

Wastewater Inspector Jim Trainor told the committee the existing lift station is at maximum capacity and that "a new lift station will have to be designed and added for this project." In the final motion the committee required the applicant to design and install a lift station and required utilities to meet City codes and to locate a paved, gated secondary access on Barnes Boulevard with a right-in/right-out configuration; the location of the gate will be determined during engineering and permitting.
