The Traverse County Commission met Dec. 3 and took several administrative actions, including approval of the day’s agenda and Nov. 19 minutes, confirmation of two citizen appointments to local boards, and authorization of a closed session on labor-negotiation strategy under Minnesota Statute 13D.03. The Board approved vendor claims that included Computershare Trust Company N.A. for $72,760.00 and noted 28 claims under $2,000 totaling $10,503.88 under M.S. §375.12.
Chad Metz moved to appoint Paul Frisch to the Planning Commission/Board of Adjustments; after discussion the motion passed 4–1 with Commissioner Kayla Schmidt opposed. Steven Deal was subsequently appointed to the Bois de Sioux Watershed by unanimous vote. The Board also directed County Attorney Matt Franzese to obtain quotes to demolish two substandard buildings in Wheaton and Browns Valley. A motion to close the meeting for labor negotiations strategy was made and the meeting was later re-opened by motion and vote.
