Cleveland County Commissioners unanimously approved a series of Sheriff’s Office budget amendments on Nov. 18 to allocate federal forfeiture funds and grant awards. The Board approved a $25,000 forfeiture allocation (BNA #023) covering uniforms, equipment, a CivicPlus social media archiving agreement and a GreenMamba video concealment system, and a separate $40,000 forfeiture allocation (BNA #029) to purchase a Crime‑Lite Auto for investigations.
The Board also approved a $175,000 federal Community Policing Development Microgrant (BNA #027) to fund salaries, training and capital equipment and a $117,025 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant (BNA #028) to fund a domestic violence assistant and related costs; staff noted the VAWA award includes a $13,452 county match and $21,089 in‑kind contribution. All amendments passed unanimously on motions by Commissioner Deb Hardin.
