The board reviewed its spring–summer work plan and staffing strategy, with staff saying they will start field operations in April and begin sales and customer service on April 13.
“We bumped up to $16 an hour this year, so try to compete with everybody,” the staff presenter said, adding the plan is to bring four temporary workers on, including at least one returning seasonal employee. Staff said hires must be 18 or older and that they will promote positions at an upcoming job fair to recruit students and other candidates.
Members emphasized priorities for early-season treatment targets—white top (tall and short), musk and Scotch thistle and knapweed—and agreed staff will schedule jobs by appointment and prioritize plants that will seed earliest.
