The Planning Commission unanimously approved a special exemption for William and Dove Halverson to build a larger second home on Parcel 11963 (Deerwood Trail) at the Jan. 15 meeting.
Property owner William Halverson told commissioners he owns 4 acres and intends to build a larger second home while using the existing dwelling as a guest house. The Zoning Office reported no public opposition (no letters, phone calls or emails) for this application. The motion to approve was made by Reginald Arrington and seconded by Randy Crocker; approval included conditions that the use not be detrimental to public welfare or safety, that the applicant meet VDOT requirements, and confirmation that the site complies with the county zoning ordinance requirement for a second home in AG zoning.
