The Board discussed questions raised by the Board Rules and Committee about residency and licensure: whether CPAs who reside in Washington should be required to hold a Washington license (or registration), and whether licensure should be required when a Washington-resident CPA's principal place of business is outside Washington State. No formal action was taken; staff will prepare a report with current licensee population and location data for the next Board meeting.
The discussion was exploratory and intended to gather information before any policy or rule proposal. Board members raised questions but did not advance a proposal at this session.
