The Jackson County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 20 adopted Resolution No. 37-10-2025 to amend Chapter 18 of the county Subdivision and Platting Ordinance. The changes clarify when remaining acreage must be surveyed in connection with a Certified Survey Map and correct an internal section reference concerning easement requirements.
Supervisor Sarah Peloquin moved to adopt the resolution; Supervisor Garth Rolbiecki seconded. The motion passed by voice vote with 19 present voting Aye. The resolution text specifies that when dividing a parent parcel by Certified Survey Map and the remaining acreage is less than 20 acres, a certified survey of the remaining acreage is not required if adjoining and contiguous parcels are owned by the same party and the total acreage will be at least 20 acres.
The resolution also amends language to direct readers to Section 18.61(11) for easement requirements. The committee that recommended the change was the Jackson County Zoning and Land Information Committee; the amendments take effect upon publication of the official proceedings.
