The Duchesne County Council of Governments on Jan. 26 appointed Tabiona Town Mayor Terry Hughes as chair for 2026 after Commissioner Jeff Chugg nominated Hughes and a motion to cease nominations passed by acclamation. Altamont Town Mayor Scott Allen seconded the motion, and the minutes record that "the motion passed with no opposing votes."
Duchesne City Mayor Deborah Herron nominated Myton City Mayor Linda Harrington for vice-chair; Commissioner Jeff Chugg moved to cease nominations and appoint Harrington, a motion seconded by Mayor Herron and recorded as passing unanimously. Commissioner Greg Miles moved to appoint Commissioner Tracy Killian as secretary; that motion, seconded by Commissioner Jeff Chugg, likewise passed with no opposing votes. The meeting opened at 3:00 p.m. at the Duchesne County Centennial Event Center and adjourned at 3:43 p.m.
