Airport staff asked the board to support a request to the County Commission to retain approximately $54,000 in unused pavement funds from the Taxiway Foxtrot project and apply the balance to rehabilitate pavement in front of county‑owned hangars. Director Steven Gleason said the airport borrowed $700,000 from the County for Taxiway Foxtrot and, due to favorable project outcomes, not all funds were required. Staff argued that applying the remaining funds to nearby hangar pavement during the upcoming pavement rehabilitation project is more cost‑effective than performing a separate job later.
Gleason also reported progress on hangar development and lease activity: several leases have been executed or are waiting signatures, and two new hangar lease agreements from a prospective tenant, Laurel Catto, are under review and may prompt a special meeting if finalized before the next regular meeting. Board discussion included evaluating whether different categories of airport users (personal hangars, FBOs, commercial businesses) should use distinct lease templates; the board requested a future agenda item to consider standardized lease classifications.
