Resolution No. 57-12-2025 approving the Jackson County 2026 Annual Work Plan was adopted Dec. 15 by voice vote (19 Aye). Forestry staff described plans to offer 30–40 timber tracts for sale in major types including aspen-oak, oak, jack pine and red pine. The packet lists regeneration-harvest allowable acreages (example: oak 320 acres; aspen 600 acres) and a total allowable cut figure of 1,795 acres for 2026.
Planned activities include reforestation (up to 220 acres with up to 240,000 seedlings), timber-stand improvement (oak release and invasive-species control), moss marsh public bidding (3–4 marshes), and ongoing work toward carbon-credit project verification expected as early as Q1 2026.
