Tile transfer ceremony marks completion of pile transfer; DOE requests community infrastructure wish list

Barbara Michel, speaking for DOE communications and stakeholder engagement, said the April tile transfer ceremony marked the completion of the 16-million-ton tile transfer and that the Moab pile plaque is now empty while the Crescent Junction cell plaque is full. She thanked the Committee and community partners, and noted participation by former Congresswoman Grace Napolitano, Senator John Curtis' office, State DEQ Director Tim Davis (on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor), and representatives from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
Michel reminded the committee that a second infrastructure tour is scheduled for May 14 and that DOE is requesting a community infrastructure "wish list" by June 1 as part of infrastructure reuse discussions. She also noted DOE is reviewing its project website and may remove certain internal process or program documents while continuing to provide air monitoring and groundwater reports to the public.
