Roosevelt road realignment proposed to address closely spaced intersections on Pole Line Road

Commissioner Greg Miles said the county is pursuing property acquisition to reroute traffic at the intersection of Pole Line Road and Highway 40 to improve safety. He told the Council the issue stems from two intersections that are extremely close together and said the state transportation department “would like one of them restricted.”
Miles said truck traffic currently uses three different routes through the area and that rerouting to the traffic-light intersection would consolidate movements and reduce conflict points. He encouraged coordination with UDOT and neighboring jurisdictions as the county explores right-of-way and property options; no formal motion or funding decision was recorded at the meeting.
