Board designates Sheriff’s Office as Jackson County’s PSAP to pursue state grants

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 18 approved Resolution No. 24-08-2025 formally designating the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center as the county’s public safety answering point (PSAP). The resolution cites 2019 Wisconsin Act 26 and Wis. Admin. Code § DMA 2.03 and notes that only one PSAP per county is eligible for certain state grants.
Supervisor Garth Rolbiecki moved to adopt the resolution; Sheriff Waldera attended the meeting for questions. The board adopted the measure by voice vote with 19 present voting Aye. The resolution states the Sheriff’s Office is the only communications center in Jackson County eligible to apply for the grant program and takes effect upon passage.
