The Duchesne County Economic Advisory Board announced that Corey Wilde will serve as the county’s new economic development director, a transition staff said the board will support through an onboarding period.
Melissa Hughes, the commission executive assistant, told the board: “I recently made a very difficult decision to step down as director, and we have hired Corey Wilde as the new economic development director for Duchesne County.” Corey Wilde, who spoke briefly after being introduced, said, “I’m excited, guys.” Board members said the transition is intended to be gradual so the outgoing director can help bring the new director up to speed on active projects.
The change matters because staff said the county has multiple active grant projects and outreach efforts that require continuity, including Main Street matching grants, workforce development projects and a marketing/outreach allocation tied to a rural county grant. Board members asked that Wilde work with existing partners and report progress at the next meeting.
