Commissioners urge appointments to fill vacancies; commissioners bid congratulations to Evan Heinrich

Commissioners expressed urgency about filling vacant seats on the Coupeville Planning Commission before the January meeting. "I'm anxious for us to get, 1 or 2 commissioners on board... in our January meeting, if there's just the 3 of us, it just doesn't seem to be... it doesn't seem right," the Chair (S1) said, urging that at least one more member be appointed so the commission has additional perspectives and resilience against absences.
Planning staff (S2) said two applicants are under review and that the mayor and town planner have interviewed at least one applicant; the Chair asked staff to encourage the town council to place the appointment on an upcoming council agenda. The commission did not vote on any appointments during the meeting.
Separately, commissioners offered congratulations to Evan Heinrich (S5) on a new role. "Evan, congratulations on your new role," Commissioner (S3) said; Evan Heinrich (S5) replied he appreciated the support and regretted not being present in person.
